MRP Honored With ‘Outstanding Business of the Year’ and ‘Excellence in Innovation’ Awards By Belfast Telegraph

2020 has been a tough year for all of us. But it got a little brighter this week for the folks here at MRP with the news that we’ve been named by Belfast Telegraph both as the ‘Outstanding Business of the Year’ and recognized for our ‘Excellence in Innovation.’

Each year the Belfast Telegraph Business Awards, in partnership with Ulster Bank, recognize and celebrate the business successes of individuals and organizations across Northern Ireland. Now in their 19th year, these prestigious awards attract entries from across all sectors and sizes of businesses. There were 15 categories this year for the awards, the largest number ever. The success of the winners of the 2020 awards has been marked at a socially-distanced presentation in Titanic Hotel, Belfast, also attended by Economy Minister Diane Dodds.

“We’re proud to be a part of the thriving business scene in Belfast and Northern Ireland,” says Gavin Walsh, General Manager EMEA/APJ, MRP. “Every day we’re working to best serve our customers, but also to play a vital role in the larger Belfast community and economy. We’re proud to be recognized with these two distinguished honors and eager to continue our presence in Northern Ireland for years to come.”

This year the Belfast Telegraph, the newspaper of record for the city, saw a record number of submissions for the awards. MRP, which now has over 200 employees in Northern Ireland, is proud to be a part of the innovative, thriving business scene in Belfast. The Belfast Telegraph, founded in 1870, is the newspaper of record for the city.

Minister Diane Dodds presents the Outstanding Business of the Year awards to Gavin Walsh, General Manager & VP Inside Sales of MRP and Tina McKenzie, CEO Staffline Recruitment Ireland with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Professor Mark Durkin, Executive Dean of the Ulster University Business School, and leader of the awards’ panel of judges said “MRP demonstrated the capability of Northern Ireland business and is a real role model of ambition. Competing on a worldwide scale, its activities are hugely relevant in today’s digital era. In the last three years, the company has seen record growth in both revenue and expansion of its client base.”

Other 2020 Business Award winners include MRP’s parent company, Newry-based First Derivatives plc – also the winner of the Large Company of the Year Award.
